The ABC is a national membership association that offers a support network for professional independent children's booksellers who share the goal of encouraging quality and service within the children's book industry.

Membership in ABC is open to independent retail stores directly engaged in the retail sale of children's books, publishers of children's literature, authors and illustrators of children's literature, publisher's representatives, librarians, wholesalers, literary agents, distributors, and prospective booksellers.
